The urban and peri-urban areas of the country are increasingly congested with traffic resulting in an increase in accidents, slowdowns, atmospheric and noise pollution, the number of motorists looking for parking spaces that are not always available, or who face restrictions / restrictions access to historical centers. The whole of these phenomena has a negative impact both from the point of view of the economic and social development of the country.
The objective of PEGASUS (Mobility Management Project Through Infotelematic Systems for the Urban area, for the Safety of Passengers, Vehicles and Goods) is, therefore, the creation of an integrated infotelematic platform that is the enabling element of a systemic approach to the sustainable and safe management of flows of people, vehicles and goods within urban areas.
In particular, the platform will be based on the collection and processing in real time of data from vehicles, infrastructures and their interactions and will exploit them for better management of mobility in urban and peri-urban areas.
A brief overview of the PEGASUS objectives and the expected innovations from the implementation of the Infotelematic Platform are shown below and subdivided according to the reference area, taking into account that the final result will be the result of the interaction of all the strategic actions of industrial innovation. of the system project.
